Girl Get After It is a women's community in SF for women who want a big city with nature at the edges, with incredible access to mountains, beaches, and every kind of terrain right here and a few hours out. We're a smaller, tight-knit chapter, which is the best part: it's easy to really get to know each other and fold new members in from their very first event. We meet two to three times a month, so there's always a way in.

What We Get After in San Francisco

We make the most of the city and everything around it.

Our monthly Walk and Talks are the most consistent way in, open to non-members and great for bringing a friend, and we roam everywhere from Golden Gate Park to the Embarcadero to Marina Green. We run and hike the city's incredible trail systems like Mount Sutro and the Presidio, with bigger days out at Pirates Cove, Tennessee Valley, Lands End, and the Dipsea. We bike Hawk Hill and the Paradise Loop, paddle out of Sausalito and Tiburon, and train at studios like Barry's, Solidcore, and Yoga Flow. For our podcast club and educational talks we gather at spots like Woods and Southern Pacific Brewing, and we love teaming up with local women-owned businesses like Heartpounds SF.

  • Two to three times a month, anchored by a monthly Walk and Talk that's open to non-members, plus hikes, runs, rides, paddles, studio sessions, and podcast club.

  • We’re obsessed with trying new things, so you name it and we’ve probably done it!

    We love the wellness, fitness and outdoor space - everything from workouts and mental health to outdoor adventures with friends. Our events welcome all ability levels and are low-key, fun and take the intimidation out of doing it alone.

  • GGAI is for all adult ages! We have members who are 18 years old up to 62, with the majority of our members being in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

    We value intergenerational friendships and believe connecting with women from all walks of life is so important.

  • The majority of our events are completely free. There are some instances where activities require having certain equipment (skis, paddle board, rentals etc) which we leave up to the attendees to bring.

    Then, every once in a while studios/hosts we partner with will offer our community a reduced class or workshop fee, often way cheaper than the usual rate.

  • Come to a Walk and Talk. They're open to non-members and built for bringing a friend or showing up solo. As a smaller, tight-knit chapter, we get to know new members fast, so it's easy to feel at home from your first event. No experience or fitness level required.

  • Not at all. We range from easy city walks to trail runs and paddles, with plenty of low-key options like podcast club and educational talks. Every ability level and interest fits here.
